Self-Portrait in Red

It was trouble to save this one. The colors had always dulled when saved as Jpeg. Maybe because the intensity of the reds? I'm not sure. Well, here it goes. Some drawing flaws, but maybe i can get into the habit of doing them. See ya!
Oh! Just to say, i'm into those traditional media phases again.

More 15 minute studies.

They're one of the stuff that i try to keep doing daily. More and more, the craft seems doable, however never easy. I would point specificly to the Hellboy ones and how the same character has its color changed due to different lightsources.

Sargent! Yes! Finally!

I decided to post my process as well. Briefly, it start with a tone to canvas, placement drawing and anchoring some of my values, then is a color block-in and refinement. Next, some Velazquéz? I don't know. Maybe, some Dean Cornwell or Charles Edward Chambers. I'll see.

Couple of digital studies

After some time with charcoal, oils and watercolors, here comes some one-flat-layer studies. First after Tibor Nagy; second after Calvin Liang.
Edges. I'm in love with them.
Some improvement with judging values.
Needing better resolution and finishing.
See you later.

Finally, Sargent.

Just ended this study. The drapery was cool to do. Really need to paint more faces. I'm happy that i made this, but missed some important stuff. Maybe a tighter drawing would help with proportions e accuracy.

Sidwill

He is one of my favorite digital media artists. So i decided to do this study of him. I just started one of Velazquez right now. Really tough, but is pushing my limits that i might get somewhere i want. See you soon.

Drapery Studies

Learning oils is so amazing. It really helps with digital medium. Inspired by the traditional process i did those studies. Two based in Leyendecker (such great design sense) and one inspired by Sargent (the simple yet strong in information brushwork dropped my jaw). Tomorrow, maybe, i'll delve into some oils again. See you soon!

Color Study

It still hard to figure out colors/values. I want to get more used to paint, in general. I did this study of Michael Malm. I love the rim light effect that he can make Next, is probably some Sargent study, but with colors.

Back from the void of traditional media intesive studies.

Yeah, i felt that my drawing was weak, so i decided to pump it up. And, i wanted to get a better, and almost, formal approach to painting. So, now i'm back with my digital studies, delving into values, since they are the key to good naturalistic representation.
Sargent, various artists and Richard Schmid studies.
